Bar Manager
Job Description
Tired Hands Brewing Company is looking for a qualified person to join our team as the Bar Manager of the Fermentaria. The Bar Manager oversees the service staff in a 250 seat restaurant. The bar manager is responsible for managing the draft list, and works with the brewery and logistics teams. The Bar Manager reports to the Fermentaria General Manager. We seek a committed, responsible and passionate individual to support our front of house staff and guests.
Duties and Responsibilities
Service
Maintain an accurate draft map and facilitate tapping of kegs
Coordinate with Brewery and Logistics teams to ensure orders are delivered promptly
Coordinate tapping of new beers for service.
Provide superior customer service and model ideal customer interactions and teamwork for front of house staff.
Manage the service space, monitoring for cleanliness, safety, timeliness and quality of service and experience.
Work with GM to implement proper cleaning procedures/deep clean.
Regularly meet with GM to discuss deficiencies and strengths of service, areas for reinforcement and areas for improvement.
Management
Support the General Manager in supervising front of house staff
Enforce company policies and procedures and model compliance with company policies
Complete paperwork and participate in administrative procedures as necessary
Support staff in meeting job expectations
Troubleshoot challenges with staff, guests, equipment, etc. as they may arise
Regularly meet with GM to discuss deficiencies and strengths of service, areas for reinforcement and areas for improvement

Draft written reminders or recommend disciplinary action/termination for violations of company policy
Maintain confidentiality
Help identify employees for upward mobility and professional development
Maintain a positive and fun work environment
Ordering/Inventory
Complete regular inventory of and order items such as kegs, bottles, growlers, etc.
Complete inventory and maintenance of Tired Hands merchandise in collaboration with the General Store manager. Ensure tidiness of merchandise and request additional items when needed.
Complete regular inventory and order additional miscellaneous items such as coffee, tea, toddy filters, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
We are seeking an applicant with initiative who is neat, well-spoken, courteous and works well with little supervision. Must be adaptive to a growing company.
2+ years of restaurant management experience.
Superior attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, managers, guests, and vendors, verbally and in writing.
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours at a time.
Ability to lift up to 40+ pounds.
Ability to exercise excellent judgment in difficult situations.
Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
Ability and willingness to maintain an environment free of harassment and discrimination.
Ability to work calmly and productively in a fast and loud environment.
Ability to get along with others.
Flexibility in schedule and duties.
Organization and ability to accurately maintain up to date records.
Ability to use data, word processing and POS software.
Willingness to be a team player and jump in when others need help.
Have or obtain RAMP certification within 6 months of hire.
